Red Rocks

We haven't done this hike in decades, so when Ben's friend Matt asked us to go, we were very excited. It ended up being a perfect hike for a little bit of a gloomy day, but beautiful hike.

Cold Stone

We realized we hadn't ever gone to Cold Stone and then walked around Civic Green yet, and that's one of our favorite summer traditions. With only a few days left with Audra, we decided to make it happen, and I'm so glad we did!

Maxwell Falls

I flexed my time and took off a little early so that Ben and I could take Audra on one last hike before heading to college. It was really nice to spend some time with her, and also really sad that our time with her before college is coming to a close.

Dash Point and Redondo

While in Seattle, we found time to go to Dash Point so Camille could find some seashells, and to Redondo, where it turned into a parking disaster and we left quickly very frustrated before heading to the airport.

A Couple of Hikes

I was finally able to sneak out and go on some hikes- to Lair O the Bear with my old teammate Kelly Rayburn, and then a few days later with the Neyenhuis' to Maxwell Falls.

It was wonderful to be in nature!

Then with Kelly:

FINALLY A Hike!

My favorite summer activity, by far, is hiking. Unfortunately, between driving kids around, bad weather, driving kids around, a kitchen remodel, driving kids around, turning over a rental, and driving kids around, it wasn't until tonight that Ben, Audra, and I finally got to go on a hike, sans Claire and Camille who are at girls camp and for once didn't need me driving them around.

Man, a hike is great therapy!

South Valley

With school starting up soon, this is probably our last hike of the summer ;( Ben, Camille, and I went to South Valley and it was lovely.

Bear Lake

We had an awesome vacation with family at Bear Lake!

It was Max's Birthday, so we decorated the house for him and had pancakes for him in the morning!

Ben won Hot Dice for the third time

We tried a new place for dinner, Merlin's, and we really liked it. It was the best burgers we've had at Bear Lake, and there wasn't a long line which was the best.

As the girls get older, the more I realize I need to get the girls to the temple as often as possible. I thought it would be fun to get them to the Logan Temple. When I first looked into it, the only appointments available were at 5:30 AM. No thank you. I checked again while we were in Seattle, and there was an appointment for 8:30 AM so I booked it. We had to leave at 7 AM, but we got there in time and had a wonderful time. I was surprised that in the 70s it was gutted and all the original design was taken out. It was a little disappointing, but it was still great.

The best part for the girls was going to La Croissant for breakfast. It was delicious!

Then we came back and went to Pickleville Playhouse. The show was an original script Dangerville. It was a little crude, but pretty funny. Our group had mixed reviews.

To end the trip, the cousins put on a play for us, per tradition.

It was a wonderful trip. And now, after three trips in three weeks, we are ready to be back home and sleeping in our own beds for the foreseeable future!
