Twix!

It only took 8 days for Twix to escape. It wasn't hard for her- they built her an obstacle course in the bath tub because "she was bored" and then left her. Ben and I told them she could climb and escape, and the girls insisted she couldn't.

Mom and dad were right.

Thankfully, Ben found her in our bedroom closet. There were a lot of tears as we frantically searched under beds and in every crevice.

We hope the girls learned their lesson and will not leave her unattended outside of her cage.

"Twix is the best pet EVER!" -Camille

"Shh... Twix needs quiet so she can get accustomed to her surroundings, and we can't go get the rest of her supplies until you finish your schoolwork" = Best Parenting Hack Ever.

I may rig it so Twix never gets accustomed to her surroundings.

Twix!

12 years ago, 1 kid: Can we get a dog?

Parents: No, sweetheart.

10 years ago, 2 kids: Can we get a dog?

Parents: Not a chance.

8 years ago, 3 kids: Can we get a dog?

Parents: Never.

6 years ago: Can we get a CAT?

Parents: Absolutely not.

4 years ago: Can we get a cat?

Parents: We are a non-pet household. NO!

Last week: Mom, Dad- we have a puppet show for you! We have been working on it for several weeks, and can't wait to show you our beautiful puppet show!

Unsuspecting parents naively sit down.

Puppet show uses Baby Grogu as a manipulation tool while explaining why children should have a hamster as a pet using three main arguments: 1. Hamsters are perfect starter pets, very easy to take care of, 2. Parents had pets as children, it's unfair of them to deprive their children such a blessing, 3. They are very responsible and will completely take care of it.

Parents look at each other with both laughter and anger while questioning why they taught children to use logic and to speak.

Long story short, meet Twix- the newest member of the family.

The kids are in Heaven.
