Fall Hike

We call ourselves the "Larriott's" or "Team L and Team M" and they are some of our best friends- the Leubners. We see them multiple times a week. When Mrs. K suggested we go on a fall hike, we knew we had to join them!

Ben had off, so we went up to Meyers Ranch for a fall hike to see some changing leaves. Mrs. K brought our favorite hiking lunch- baguettes, cheese, and ham (seriously, if you go hiking,  get this for the hike! It somehow makes the hike magical. You can also bring chocolate because a baguette with chocolate for dessert is delicious). I brought some apple cider and apple fritters. I wanted to bring pumpkin donut holes, but the store didn't have any- can you believe that? I couldn't.

Anyway, it was perfection.

Camille is so cute- the other day when it was one of the first crisp mornings we had- she walked outside and said, "Mom- I LOVE fall! This is my favorite season! I love this weather. I want a t-shirt that says 'I love fall!'" I need to find this t-shirt for her. She is such a nature loving girl, I love how she notices the changes of season.

Back to the hike. It was pretty spectacular, even though it was pretty steep and I was dying! I am jogging anywhere from 3-7 miles 5 times a week, but I was dying hiking up this mountain.

It's Official!

Do you see it? It's hard to tell, but Claire (left) has surpassed Audra in height! Audra has graciously accepted her role as shortie.

Primary Program

The kids wore masks, and had a great primary program this year. They didn't do one last year (thanks, Covid) so we were all glad they could make it work this year.

Camille's line:

I know that when my family follows Jesus Christ we can be happy.

She said it as fast as humanly possible and did a wonderful job. We sure love our little Millie Bug!

Cousin's Birthday

We got to go celebrate M's 7th Birthday which was a lot of fun. The kids got to make tye dye shirts (which is just about their favorite thing in the world), eat cake, and of course celebrate their wonderful cousin!

Christmas Quilt

\

Audra inspired me to make a Christmas quilt using the pattern that she used for her fair quilt. Her sewing leader happened to have yards and yards of Christmas fabric that she was willing to give me, so I sued that fabric. I don't love the blue, if I'm being honest. I may end up making another one. I wanted it to be red, white, and green, but since this fabric was free I couldn't turn it down. I think it turned out OK, I just don't love it. But, I am excited to use it once Christmas time comes. It's a king size quilt, so it's huge and it was a lot of work, and it will be fun to put it to use.

DMNS

We have kind-of had a rough start to our homeschool year. Adjusting to a school without Audra has been harder than I expected- not having her here has thrown the dynamics of our school completely off.

We needed a field trip- thankfully we got one!

We went to DMNS, specifically to see their Numbers in Nature exhibit. I'm pretty sure the kids just ran around socializing with the other kiddos, but guess what? It was exactly what we needed. The girls loved it.

We missed not having Audra there, but she has her own fun:

Temple

For the first time in 18 months I went to the temple. You have to register for a time before hand, and masks are "recommended" (I really wish they were required!). It was great being back!
