Chicago: Day 3

On day 3 we hit the Museum of Science and Industry because that was built for the Chicago World's Fair in 1893 and I wanted to see it. We went to the Field Museum, then went on an architecture river cruise, and to see the Grant Park Fountain.

Field Museum:

Because of the marathon, we could not get a taxi from the museum back to downtown. We had about 5 taxis cancel because they couldn't get around. Finally, an Uber came, but the rules are you can't sit in the front seat. Knowing there really were no other options, we all climbed into the back. We really didn't have a choice. So, I sat on Steph's lap and we did buckle in. That's what sisters do when there is no choice.

We went to Portillo's for dinner- another Chicago institution. They are a hot dog place. I'm not a fan of hot dogs, but I was actually quite impressed as these really were quite good.

This is the face of someone who is VERY upset because they waited 20 minutes in line waiting for her chocolate cake to be ready, and the rest of us had finished their meal by the time she got hers:

Then, the moment we were waiting for: The architecture cruise.

At this point we were all pretty exhausted, so mom and Liss stayed at the hotel while Steph and I went to see this famous fountain. It was very pretty!

Chicago: Day 2

On Day 2, we did it all! Well, not quite- but we did a lot.

Breakfast at Nutella (a Nutella restaurant?!?!?!), Chicago 360, the Lake Tour, Navy Pier, bowling,  the Chicago Theater, and so much more!

As we started the day and walked to the Nutella restaurant, a whole slew of runners came behind us. By accident, we landed in Chicago the same weekend of the Chicago Marathon. We were worried about it, but it was great. It didn't really affect us at all.

We wanted to see the outside of the theater and found out there was a comedian performing there. We looked her up, and it said she was pretty clean and the tickets were only $25, so we decided to go for it I'm so glad we did- it is such a beautiful theater! We had a great time.

Bowling might not be the first thing you think of when you go to Chicago, but it was part of the Go Pass so we decided to give it a shot. It was a lot of fun, and definitely something different to do in a new city.

A cool art piece we found:

Virtual reality- this did make me a little motion sick:

Navy Pier- this was a blast! Probably my favorite part of Chicago. We did the big wheel, and I went on the swings because that's Camille's favorite ride at Disneyland so I went in honor of her.

The big wheel:

The lake tour was a blast:

Lake Michigan:

On top of the 360 Tower to get great views of the city:

"Make no little plans, they have no magic to stir men's blood...make big plans; aim high in hope and works."

I like that there is a "Today's Chicago Woman Way"

Every town should have a Nutella restaurant. I mean, it's a Nutella restaurant!
