Singing at the Rockies!

For the second time, Camille got to sing that National Anthem at the Rockies game. We took the lightrail to the game, which ended up being a bad idea because we left the game early to make our train (or we would need to wait another hour) and that is when the Rockies scored 8 runs and  won the game. Oh, well.

This is Camille on the way home- she was tired!

Her friends before the singing:

Overall, it was a fun night, but we aren't too sad this will be her last time singing there. It's a lot of work to go to the game!

Piano Recital

Audra and Camille had their piano recital today. No Claire as she dropped out of piano this year. They both did great, and both earned the annual "musicianship award." They are both getting really, really good at piano! It is so fun to hear them practice every day!

HEX

A couple of months ago Camille tried out for HEX- a track team, basically, for TBE. Only 10 girls and 10 boys from the school made it, and she did! For several weeks she went twice a week in the morning to practice. Today was their competition. They were against about 8 other elementary schools. Everyone got to do all the events- a 100 meter dash, 4 x 100 relay, 4 x 400 relay, softball toss, long jump, and tug of war. It was a lot of fun (albeit ridiculously windy) and she had a lot of fun. Oh, there was also a lot of duck, duck, goose involved. And poor Freddy had to go to the ER because a water bottle hit him in the head and he needed stitches. But other than that, it was great!

Our neighbor Gavin also made the team!

Annual Review

I had my annual review with my principal. I am still really loving my job! Unfortunately, next year the district won't let Kelly and me job share, so I will be going full-time next year. Kelly will hopefully find a different job in the district. That was a huge bummer, and she is worried, but we knew from the beginning it was a one year thing, we just hoped the district would change their minds. I'm nervous to go full-time next year, but my admin is very supportive in providing flexibility to my schedule. That's the only way I could do it. Plus, if I hate being full-time I can always switch back to part-time, TBE would just be left with only a part-time instead of a full-time person doing the job, which is a bummer. I don't know why they won't let me be .8, which would be ideal.

Anyway, here's my review:

Christina has done an outstanding job this year, and I have enjoyed watching her grow. She has been an incredible asset to our school and gifted program, and has consistently gone above and beyond to foster a challenging, engaging learning environment. Christina's passion and motivation are contagious, and she encourages those around her to strive for excellence. She is open to new ideas, continually wanting to learn and grow, and always keeping students at the forefront of her mind. Christina is a joy to work with and has begun to take on a leadership role in our building. She willingly supports teachers, shares ideas and information, and presents everything she learns. She always approaches collaboration with enthusiasm and a willingness to explore new ideas. Christina's dedication to her students and our school is commendable, and we are so lucky to have her at Trailblazer.

Black and Gold Spring Game

Audra got to play with the CU marching band. Well, kind of. She went and played with them for 3 hours, and then was supposed to play for the game, but it was WET- so much rain and snow! It's been miserable weather wise here. Ugh!

So, they just went and watched some of the game.

If you look closely, that's Deion Sanders in the middle. He's wearing his signature cowboy hat.

Audra got to see her friend Tommy, who was in marching band with her at TRHS and now attends CU. Her friend Ali also went with.

While she was there, my friend Brenda and I hung out. Due to the weather, we couldn't do anything outside, so we went to Celestial Seasonings and did a tour. I had never been before. But now, going to Celestial Seasoning and the CU Spring Game during a winter snowstorm makes me feel very much like a Coloradoan.

One Weekend, Two Proms

It was a whirlwind for this beauty, and she was EXHAUSTED after, but she looked really, really good while doing it ;)

It took us forever to find her perfect dress- she wanted to feel like a princess. She succeeded- with a Cinderella ball gown and Belle hair. She is is exquisite.

On Friday night she went to Castle View's prom with Austin. They ate at Cheesecake Factory. The dance was at the aquarium downtown.

It was snowing- SNOWING- so we had to pivot and do indoor pictures. We did them inside Park Meadows and it was lovely.

Claire was at a party, so we took Camille on a date to Chili's.

Then, on Saturday, Audra had Prom #2- MoPro. Her date, Jason, stopped by a couple of weeks ago at 10 PM (I had to wake Audra up) with a very cute sign: "I might be in (treble clef) asking so late...but will you MARCH to MOPRO with me?"

Even though she is "dating" Austin, we told her she had to say yes to other boys if they asked her out. Jason is a super great kid, and Audra really wanted to go to MoPro (she asked Austin but he said no), so it all worked out. It was a big group from our ward that went which was perfect.

Again, it was SNOWING and freezing cold!

This is a really awesome group of kids. Sam, Andelin, Dallin, Andaley, Jason, Audra (and Evan and Emily who came a little late)

He'll get home from his mission right as Audra leaves for her. He is already called to the Bogota, Columbia Mission. But, aren't they a cute couple?

They went to the Ropers for dinner and more pictures, and after the dance they went back to play games. Audra didn't get home until 1:15. At 12:15 I texted to make sure she was still alive and she said, "We are at the Ropers. I am so tired!"
