It's hard to believe it, but one month has already flown by with our little Camille-Bug.
Overall, she is still a really good baby- although she is now awake for a few hours everyday and seems confused as to what to do and so she cries.
She thinks she needs to eat about 100 times a day. I am pretty sure she is about 9 lbs. now. She weighed 8 lbs. 7 oz. on Monday, but every day she gets bigger and bigger. Her thighs and cheeks are really starting to fill out. I am hoping for a really fat baby! We might finally get one! Hopefully she is lazy too and doesn't want to walk until about 15 months old!
For a newborn, she is really a pretty good sleeper. She wakes up about every 2-3 hours to nurse, but she immediately falls right back to sleep. Unlike certain other babies who would wake up and cry, and nurse, and want to play, she just latches on and then we both fall back asleep.
She loves her binky during the daytime, but at night she doesn't use her binky at all- a little strange, but whatever works we will do!
The older girls smother her way too much and that makes her cry, but I don't think it will change anytime soon. Audra often says, "Is the newborn baby awake?" or "I want to see if her eyes are open!"
We put her on Zantac because we are pretty certain she has GERD- that makes 3 for 3 so we weren't surprised.
There have been a couple of rough days, I'm not going to lie. Mostly about how to keep Audra and Claire happy while I'm tending to Camille's needs. They still require attention from Mom, and it's hard to give them that while I'm nursing. The first couple of weeks were also so severely difficult with my recovery. Thankfully, I am feeling much better now and so that is a huge help. I keep saying, and it is true, the difficult child is not Camille! Hopefully the other two will adjust and I will be able to figure out how to meet all of their needs.
We pretty much all love snuggling with Camille- she is a great snuggler! So far, we like her. I guess we'll keep her around for at least a little bit longer.
