We flew home from Seattle on Claire's Birthday. We let her open up one present on her Birthday, but mostly we were traveling and adjusting to being home.
So we celebrated her Birthday the day after her Birthday with Ben's family. Ann made a nice dinner and had a cake. For those counting, this celebration was the FOURTH time we sang and celebrated her Birthday. That is one lucky girl!
We got Claire a princess wagon that she can play with in the backyard. I think she'll like it.
At four years old, here are some things that make Claire special:
-She will not eat rice, olives, avocado, or lettuce/spinach
-She still tantrums A LOT- that definitely continues to be a struggle. We're trying different things, but I am hoping she outgrows it soon. A lot of people have told me that their difficult children outgrew their tantrums by 4 1/2. We'll see if we can last that long!
-Even though she tantrums, she is AWESOME with other adults. She did great in pre-school, and she is amazing in Sunbeams
-She still LOVES to color- and she is really good, too
-She loves princesses and pink
-If we are in the car for a long drive in the afternoon, she will almost always fall asleep and then wake up grumpy
-She LOVES hugs. She seems to need the pressure that she gets from hugs. She is a GREAT hugger.
-She LOVES Camille and is generally really sweet with her. But, because she is only 4, she can be a bit aggressive and get into trouble.
-If Audra can do something, so can Claire. I really couldn't believe it when Claire was able to go across the monkey bars after watching Audra. It was impressive.
-She is very observant and smart.
It's been rough because she is a feisty one. She will be the CEO of a fortune 500 company one day, but in a 4 year old it's tough sometimes. But, we sure love that girl. She keeps us on our toes, but we really are blessed to have her in our family.
