Journal Writing

I was asked to go in and speak to the Activity Day girls at church about journal writing. I am a pretty good expert on that, having written almost every day since I was 7.

I brought in my large stack of journals- 31 total (I think). Journaling for me has always been quite cathartic. Writing helps me process my thoughts and feelings- imagine how psycho I would be if I didn't use writing as an outlet for my emotions!

Because I had them out, I read through some of my past journals. Man, those teenage years were rough! I had a lot of issues going on, and I wish I had turned more to my mom and talked to her about those issues. I have always prided myself on being independent, but perhaps I should have relied on my mom more.

I am so grateful for amazing friends. I have always been blessed with incredible friends. Thank you for putting up with me! Especially those of you have known me in my crazy, obnoxious, emotional teenage years! Man, I have had a lot of growing up to do over the years.

It was fun, though a little depressing, going through my journals. But, it is heartening to know that despite my crazy past, my life has turned out pretty great. I feel very, very blessed.
