Littleton Historical Museum

Since we are studying frontiersmen I decided to take the girls to the Littleton Historical Museum. We used to go here all the time, and I was very sad when Audra admitted to not remembering ever having been here. We came here all the time with her little friends back in the day, so it hurt my heart just a little bit.

They loved pretending to be pioneers and packing up their wagon to head to their new home in California.

There is an old schoolhouse, so I decided to bring a little bit of school so we could do actual school in the schoolhouse. The kids loved this! We did handwriting and spelling, and it really was pretty cool for me to pretend to be a teacher and the girls calling me "Ms.Marriott" and such. It really was fun- and I am quite certain they will remember more about 19th century prairie schoolhouses from this experience than from any story I could have told them.
