Protests...

I made the  mistake of delivering invitations to all 5 of our area high schools today- the day of nationwide protests against guns.

Security at all the schools was extreme, and the excitement of the students was palpable. Many had signs already to go- it was great to see, actually. It's always great when teenagers get involved and voice their opinions/concerns. Even though it was annoying while delivering invites, it was still great to see.

Anyway...

When I went to pick up Camille from school, there were cops on horses. The kindie kids were in Heaven! The cops said they were at the high school and after nothing happened at the protest, they decided to come over to the elementary school because they like the horse riding cops much more than the high schoolers. I thought that was pretty fun- and they were right, the kids loved them. Of course. And, so did all the moms- because, well, they are horse riding cops. How cool is that?

And here's Camille on the walk home- insisting I take pictures of her:

Can you see her? She was doing a dance down in the ravine.
