Oh, Roatan! This was a great day- swimming with dolphins! We got to pet them and see their tricks which was awesome, but then we also got to snorkel with them. I was a little bit freaked out about that, I'm not going to lie. It was a little freaky to be floating in the water and then have a school of FIVE dolphins swim right under you- so close you can touch. In fact, the girls all did touch the dolphins as they swam by. It was truly quite magical.
Funny story: We left our fanny packs (yes, we look like tourists with the fanny packs. But we ARE tourists, so we just own it) and shoes on the benches like everyone else. It was the safest place- there were only 20 of us total, and we were all in the water together, so it's not like anything could happen to them. But we get back to get our shoes and grab our Sail and Sign cards (these are worth 0 dollars, but it's your ID to get on and off the ship), and Audra's sunglasses and Sail and Sign card are missing. It's ridiculous that anybody would steal them, but we looked everywhere and couldn't find them. After 20 minutes this woman looks and her bag and says, "Oh my goodness- I promise I am not a klepto, but I have them! My son is a police officer, I would never steal anything, I'm so embarrassed!" It was really funny- so I had to get a picture of her. She was the nicest woman who "stole" Audra's card and sunglasses.
Here's the professional dolphin photos:
