HOCO 2023

 This was a BUSY homecoming weekend. Both Claire and Audra got asked out for homecoming, both by boys in our ward. Normally we wouldn't let Claire go with a date because she's only 14, but For the Strength of the Youth no longer has an age limit for dating, so we decided to let her go. Plus, her date sent both Ben and me a really sweet text asking if he could invite her, and they were going in a big group and they each paid for themselves so it was a date, but not really.

This was Audra's first date, and it was a "real" date. They also went with a group, but they went to Lazy Dog for dinner and it was more of a date feel.

Both girls said they had a great time.

We got their hair professionally done (Ben hasn't seen the bill yet- shh!)

The hairdresser told us that their thick, coarse hair comes from either Italian or Jewish ancestry. I believe it comes from Ben's side, so we need to do some more digging into our family history to figure it out.

Dillon is a really nice boy who we have known for years. They had a great time together

And now for Claire's turn:

Benny is the nicest boy. He is also in our ward, and Ben and I both heartily approve.

I was worried about the dark green of Claire's dress, thinking it was more of a winter color. Boy was I wrong! It is definitely the color of the season!

I'm glad they had a great time. I am exhausted from all of this!
