Camille's Birthday Party, Take 2

For Day 2 of Camille's Birthday celebrations, we threw her very first "Friend" party. Unlike last year, where I admitted there was literally not a single person I could think of to invite, because of pre-school she actually had lots of people to invite. There are 15 kids total in her pre-school, half of whom are on IEPs. We invited all of them, and about 7 came- which was a great number. One of them has pretty severe autism, so his dad stayed with him, and he did really great. I was glad he came, as were his parents.

I enlisted the help of Claire and Audra to prepare, It took a lot of work, but they did awesome. For their first tasks, Audra was in charge of decorating the cupcakes, and all three girls worked to make the pinata:

For the theme, Camille chose a "Purple Puppy Party." I am as clueless as you are about what that is, but we did our best.

As we previously did for both Audra and Claire's Birthday parties in years past, we set up different game stations. Audra led the "fishing" booth, Ben took the "Pin the Tail on the Purple Puppy," and Claire did two stations- throw a bean bag through a dog's face, and toss a ping pong into a jar to get candy.

I know I should be very embarrassed at this gross attempt at drawing a purple puppy for Pin the Tail on the Purple Puppy, but it turns out the 4-year-old crowd is quite easy to please.

And, of course, there was a pinata:

We had pizza, cupcakes, and ice-cream:

Looks like a lot of fun. Audra did an amazing job on the cupcakes.

I'm glad you posted this. I was a little confused when she told me about her purple puppy party. ;)

Ha! When I was about 4, I asked to be a Purple Panda for Halloween and my parents were equally clueless. ;) Turns out it was a character in Mr. Rogers. And my costume looked nothing like it.
