Today was Big Serve- an annual day of service that St. Andrew's Methodist Church puts on every year. As part of my service in our church, I have the opportunity to work with other faiths in our neighborhood. I LOVE this part of my church assignment as I have gotten to know so many wonderful people in our community. Our church has decided to partner with St. Andrew's, and supporting Big Serve is a part of that. I think we had a pretty good number of our congregation attend Big Serve, which is wonderful.
The girls wanted to sign up to paint flower pots and deliver them to a local fire station, and receive a tour of the fire station as well. It was a great project for them!
They also got to make some cards to go to the local hospital which was great.
I love these projects because it shows that you don't have to do something huge to make a difference. Even little kids can get involved in serving others.
Of course, getting a tour of the fire house made us feel pretty happy, too!
