Today we decided to sleep in. This goes against everything Disney I believe in, but the two hour time change and long days at the park were killing us. We needed a break.
We got there around 9. We just punched everything into our Touring Plan (btw, if you ever go to Disney, GET THE TOURING PLAN! It's from the same people who write The Unofficial Guide, and they have the best lines information, where to go when to avoid lines, etc. It is a must for Disney!) and the Plan told us what to do.
Because we had done most everything we wanted on Tuesday, today was more just doing rides a second/third time, trying new things, etc.
Audra and I started out at Space Mountain while Ben took Claire and Camille to Astro Orbiter.
We got Nutella (or just strawberry for Ben) waffles at Sleepy Hollow, and let me say- they are to die for! They are so delicious! Definitely a MUST for every time we go to Disney from here on out. I really hope that Disneyland has them somewhere, because they are so good!
A cavalcade came by while we were eating- how nice!
This is a cast member who draws water pictures of characters. So cute!
Another round of Splash, one of our favorites. Claire and Camille went and rode Big Thunder while we went.
This is Audra waiting for the Tiki Room. By now the park felt a lot more crowded, and because of social distancing we had to wait 25 minutes for the Tiki Room- something virtually unheard of normally.
Big Thunder with all of us:
Then we went over to Tom Sawyer Island. This is something we have always wanted to do at Disneyland, but we have never had time to do. With two days at MK, we decided to make the trek over and it was really fun. There were caves to explore, a fort to run around and "shoot" things, a barrel bridge, and so much more. It was really neat, and the kids loved just running from one place to the next. Plus, it was basically just us there which was really nice. The girls could have stayed there a lot longer, but we had dinner reservations we needed to get to.
Winnie The Pooh ride- such a fun, cute ride!
Oh, and Dumbo was a walk on and we just a few minutes before dinner so we decided to ride. Unlike Disneyland, they have two Dumbo rides next to each other. There is never a line at these rides- which is also very unlike Disneyland, where there's always a long line. The girls have outgrown this ride, but it was still fun.
Dinner tonight was our big splurge. It was at Be Our Guest, or Beast's Castle. This is a character dinner which makes it quite expensive, and the character experience is pretty lame because the Beast just walks into the room, takes a bow, and then leaves about every 15 minutes. But, we will never do it again and it was really fun for this one time.
There are three rooms. We got the lamest room. But, it was still beautiful. It had huge portraits all over the walls and there was a life size music box in the middle of the room.
Here's Beast. At least he came almost to us. He didn't even walk to the other side- I felt really bad for the people sitting over there.
The food was delicious. We mostly all got the cheese platter (chartuteruie board) for appetizer.
I got the filet mignon for dinner- it was incredible! Easily the best I have ever had- it was so tender and delicious!
Ben got pork tenderloin, I think.
Do you see the gray stuff in the middle? It's delicious!
Camille got a paint your own dessert. She painted Chip and then ate it.
This was the grand ballroom- this would have been cool to eat at, but oh, well. It was stunningly beautiful, but also really loud, so I guess it all worked out.
There is also the West Wing which was really cool- it was very dark, but they had claw marks over everything just like in the movie. It was really neat.
There were lots of really pretty things to see all around the restaurant. Again, Disney did an incredible job on theming.
This stained glass window was beautiful!
Then, back to rides. 7 Dwarves! We rode it twice because we love it so much!
This time we got Claire to come along, and she was glad she did. It isn't at all a scary ride, it's so much fun. I'm glad we all got to go on it!
We did my favorite ride, Peter Pan, once again. Oh, I LOVE that ride!
And then it was time to call it a day. Sadly.
It was another WONDERFUL day in the parks!
