King's Beach

Both Michelle and I heard from totally different independent sources that we needed to get to the beach by 8 or we would never get a parking spot. I was really stressed out about this- Ben was not. Finally we decided we would get there when we got there, and if there was no parking, Ben would drop us off and park wherever he could and walk to the beach, however far.

Michelle and Dave got there at 8. We got there about 9, and we were about the third car in the parking lot (the second car being Steph and Damien).

We honestly had the entire beach to ourselves for several hours until others finally showed up. Apparently Wednesday was the first day of school for California schools, so we totally lucked out! Have I mentioned how much I love homeschooling? If my girls were in school, they would also have been in school and we would have had to plan Tahoe for a week when everybody was out and the beach was packed.

We rented some kayaks and a stand up paddleboard. The kids loved playing and building on the beach, but most of them also tried the kayaks and paddleboard. I actually felt pretty good on the paddleboard by the end of my turn!

Again, just another fabulous day!

You can't tell, but this is Dave and Michelle. I think the lake looks really cool here:

Freya said that Camille needs to go on all the Younce vacations. They truly were inseparable- it was wonderful.

Of course, Ben commandeered the canoe- taking after Bear Lake.

Audra was sabotaged by the boys a little bit because they wanted a turn, but Audra really did a great job with the paddleboard:

A girl could used to this:
