Last Game

Claire had her last game- a loss to Columbine in the state tournament. She got in for a few seconds at the end. Mom and dad were able to go to the game so that was fun. We are very proud of her for all the hard work she has put into playing and improving her skills. We will see if she continues or pursues other opportunities, but either way- she is pretty awesome for putting her heart and soul into it. We really are proud of her!

Endowment

It was a very special weekend as Audra took out her endowment. My parents flew out, and Grandma Marriott and Beth and some ward members came. Audra says she loved it, and already has plans to go with her temple prep teacher again on Tuesday in Provo.

Then, Brother West brought over Audra's missionary plaque along with two 3D printed magnets of the Sao Paulo Temple, one for us and one for her. I cried when I saw it. It's going to be so hard to say good-bye!

Visa!

Audra came home for a VERY quick weekend to take out her endowment, and we used the time to get all of her Visa things filled out. This Visa has been a beast to complete, all the more complicated because she is in Provo. We had most everything notarized, signed, and completed (including a full background check that a very sweet mom of another sister going to Brazil helped Audra get), and with Audra home we could FINALLY turn everything in on-line, then mail all of the hard copies to SLC and hope and pray that everything goes well and her Visa is accepted!

 

End of Season

 Here's your feel good story for the day:

TRHS C-Level basketball team had their last game today. We were down by 12 with a minute left. Coach puts in the players who rarely get playing time, including "A".

"A" had never played basketball before this season, and never scored a point the whole season.

With 12 seconds left, she drove to the basket. She dribbled off her foot, and the ref called a shooting foul so she would shoot 2 free throws.

There was no foul.

Other coach (from our rival school!) said, "Umm..what?" Ref went over and quietly and discreetly explained the situation. Rival coach smiled.

"A" throws two air balls. Ref blows his whistle and says, "lane violation, she gets one more shot."

There was no lane violation.

"A" swooshes a perfect free throw! EVERYONE in the gym cheers as if she just scored a three pointer at the buzzer of the NBA finals.

"A" is thrilled- absolutely joyous and exuberant, pumping her fist as if she did score a three pointer at the buzzer of the NBA finals.

Her mom wasn't the only one with tears in her eyes at the perfect Disney ending.

And it really, truly was the perfect ending. Who cares what the score was? Not one person in that gym.

Camille is AMAZING!

 Camille go the Inspire Award! This is a BIG deal at RVMS. Every quarter, 15 students get chosen as being a great all around person and inspiring those around her. They read a paragraph that her teachers wrote about her awesomeness at a whole school assembly, and then she came down and walked through a teacher tunnel and got a t-shirt, medal, and certificate. Ben and I attended. She saw us as we walked in, and then her friends saw us, so she knew she was going to get the award. It was awesome! She is awesome!

Flying to Salt Lake City!

  Claire and I flew to BYU to see Audra perform in a concert and for Claire to get an official tour of BYU!

I had to sneak pictures of Audra at the concert. It's possible Audra will choose not to play in band after her mission, so this might be the last concert of hers that I can go to.

We took her boyfriend Matthew out to Brick Oven. Apparently he was scared to death, but I think we were normal....mostly.

Charles led our tour- and he knows Audra from marching band! How fun is that?!? He was so incredibly nice and funny and left a great impression on Claire.

There was a sign of the service event I started at BYU!! It is still going strong!

Claire kept saying, "Look how cool the mountains are! The mountains are so amazing!!"

We took a tour of Helaman Halls,which Claire fell in love with. It's a much better fit for her and her craving for an active social life

Then we went to our basketball arena and watched BYU Women's Team take on the Utah Utes. We were losing the whole game, but then pulled off a victory in the last few minutes

It was a really cool pre-show!

We got to meet one of her best friends, Abby

It was a short and exhausting weekend, but so wonderful! We sure do miss this girl!
