We try really, really hard to not be at Disneyland on Sundays- to not be on any vacation on Sundays. But due to Audra's time work status, it's hard. So we ended up going on Sunday.
And, we had a wonderful time! Words don't do this trip justice. Small crowds. Perfect weather. Yummy food.
It was perfection.
I'll let the pictures do the talking.
Except this story that must be told! This was the most amazing Pixie Dust!
We wore our matching shirts (except Claire who conveniently "lost" her shirt. We were the first ones through the gates and at the very front of Rope Drop for Peter Pan.
Three cast members came up to us and started chatting. They said they loved our shirts and asked what we were rope dropping. We said Peter Pan. They said, "well, you are our 'chosen' family of the day! You do not need to run to Peter Pan. It is open, and we will walk you there. You are a going to be our first family of the day. Everyone will be running past you- don't run. Just walk, and we will take care of you."
It was AWESOME! They walked us to Peter Pan, "Pixie Dusted" us (I LOVE that Ben let them Pixie Dust him and got in on the fun), they led us through the DAS line, and we were the first to ride the ride! Already a long line had formed, but they walked us on!
It was such a beautiful, special, unexpected moment for us. It truly set the tone for a perfect and magical trip!
So cool to be on an empty Main Street- that's Camille hustling to the rope! She knows the assignment!
Being silly while we waited and giving Camille a mustouche
Walking behind the cast member while everyone raced past us!
A magical morning!
Sitting on "the whale" of the canal boats. Claire and Camille were excited about this, but Audra was disappointed she missed out
Space Mountain is now a family favorite- which is hilarious because Audra and I have always loved it but could never get them to ride it with us. Once they finally did, they LOVED it! We rode it 3 times this trip! Silly family...
We actually got reverse evacuated off of Jungle Cruise! I've never had that happen before! We were almost to the backside of water, and then had to be taken backwards all the way back to the pier.
We decided to do the canoes, and this was a highlight of the trip! Our guides was hysterical and had us laughing the entire time!
The real impetus of the trip- riding Tiana's Bayou! It did not disappoint- we loved it! We also rode this 3 times- it would have been 4, but it broke down while we were on line about to board the 4th time. Lots of broken down rides this trip, for sure.
Audra was in front and got SOAKED!
We got to ride at the front of the Monorail! What a treat!
The girls and I went back for World of Color. Ben decided to take an early night.
This show was awesome! I am so glad we went- I LOVED it!
Plus, California Adventure at night is stunning.
Day 1 was an absolute success!
