Camille's Birthday: Track .Districts

We spent Camille's Birthday at districts for track. She did really great and had a ton of fun. A lot of her friends also made it so it was a really great event for her. Not the best way to celebrate her Birthday, but that's her fault for being so dang successful at everything.

Grandma and grandpa came into town and got to join in the festivities!

Here is Camille taking 1st place in her heart of the 400!

We grabbed some Cava for dinner and came home for cake and ice-cream

Here is Camille at 14:

-Straight A student

-Wants to do everything, but has decided to focus on dance for freshman year. She says dancing makes her feel free and like she is flying

-Is excellent at art

-Loves Chinese food

-Is extremely organized- she makes Marie Kondo look like a hot mess

-Keeps her room spotless, but is actually somewhat messy in the rest of the house

-Has a lot of really great friends

-She is still shy, but is definitely coming out of her shell

-Definitely willing to try new things, unless it makes her look uncool in front of her friends

-She very much cares about being "cool." Clothes, make-ups, trends- those are all a thing now

-She has perfectly manicured nails

-Her best friend is Ivy

-She still keeps everything to herself- I rarely know what she is thinking or feeling

-Her favorite book is Powerless by Lauren Roberts

-Does not want anything to do with band, orchestra, or choir despite our protests

-She has no idea what she wants to be when she grows up- or at least, she hasn't told us. Claire says, "she gives me engineer vibes"

Camille's Awards

Camille earned both the Principal's Award for perfect grades and the Paw Award for work ethic. These are the two highest awards you can get, and she was one of only 4 8th graders to earn both awards. This girl- she is going places! We are so proud of her and honored to be her parents. She really is something special.

Science Fair

Camille worked super hard on her science fair project- having people try to determine the flavor of jelly beans with their nose plugged and then not. Spoiler: Smell makes a HUGE difference!

Not surprisingly, she made it into the school science fair competition. She didn't win any awards, but she really is something special. Truly, she is next level when it comes to everything she does. Definitely some perfectionist tendencies that we need to watch, but she is simply brilliant and incredibly creative and artistic and athletic and she truly does excel at everything she does.

But, I also kind-of want her to stop being so awesome because it is exhausting attending all of the awards events she makes!

MoPro

Claire has some friends not of our faith who said, "Hey, we want to go to Mormon Prom with you!" So, they went and had a fantastic time. Only Natalie could make it for pictures, but Lilah joined them at dinner.

I went to help set up the dinner beforehand and I told Audra she should go because the dinner was out of this world amazing (hosted by a couple in our stake who love hosting MoPro dinner and they go ALL OUT) so she got Liesl to go with her just to dinner and they had a lovely time.

I'm grateful Claire has so many wonderful friends!

Cute Pics!

Ben Spoke in Church

For the first time in about 12 years, Ben spoke in church! It was a beautiful talk, and though he was nervous, he did great. I had to get a picture ;)
