Wild Waves and Enchanted Village

Yesterday we went with the family to Enchanted Village and Wild Waves! It was an absolutely perfect day! Stephanie decided to team up and have one of us watch the three little kids on the smaller kid rides while the other took the three bigger kids to the big kid rides. Because I am a total wuss and don't like to do big kid rides, Stephanie had that task.

Steph helping Claire out of the slide. I was impressed that both she and Audra went on these big slides- they were both incredibly brave and went on quite a few scary rides.

Sometimes, when you luck out and get Grandma all to yourself, she gets you ice-cream. Sadly, Camille was so tired she literally fell asleep in the middle of eating it! That's when you know the day was a complete success!

Mini-Golf

The hotel we stayed at had a putting green next to it that guests could use for free. We decided to head down. We realized my parents are  not the greatest golfers in the world, but they are pretty good sports and can have fun and laugh which was all that mattered.

Camille's got all the right moves!

Horses!

We decided to horseback riding. The girls LOVED it, although Camille fell asleep during the ride! Let me tell you, it is very hard to ride a horse and hold a sleeping girl almost falling off the horse at the same time!

This was actually difficult for me. The last time I rode a horse was when I was about 15 years old. The horse spooked and took off running and really scared me. I haven't been on a horse since then, but I faced my fears for the sake of the girls.

On the way home Audra asked when she and Claire could take actual lessons. I asked her when she was getting a job.

Lake Easton

My sister Michelle and her family are doing a cross country road trip, so we decided to join them for a night in Leavenworth- a fun Bavarian town up by Snoqualmie Pass in the mountains. On the way we stopped at Lake Easton. It was gorgeous!!!! Seriously, one of the most beautiful places on earth. In my nightly prayers I had to thank Heavenly Father for creating such beauty in the world.

Sand Monster!

Melissa and her girls joined us which was awesome. We were only going to stay for an hour or two, but we ended up staying for a lot longer. Hopefully we can go back and go camping sometime. I fell in love with this place!

Can you find Ben? This is what he does while the rest of us chat and play.

Ferry Ride

While in Seattle, there was one thing Ben wanted to do: Take a ferry ride to Bainbridge Island! We did this last time and discovered a really nice Children's Museum that we went to and the kids had a great time, so we decided to give it another try.

We had a great time! We drove to Bainbridge Island and then took the ferry back. That ended up working out really well.

We got the Frog Rock Pizza at the local pizzeria

It was a bit windy, unfortunately!

Finally In Oregon!

From Bear Lake, it is another 15 hours to Seattle. Sincer we were already 9 hours in, I really wanted to give it a chance to see just how tough it would be.

The girls actually did great. I had a plan:

We left as early in the morning as possible each day (usually around 7), then ate breakfast in the car. We packed a lunch and ate in the car. We only stopped for potty breaks- which was often. But, we made it. We tried not to have too many electronics, but we did let them watch one movie a day. On the really long days, we did one long movie and one short movie a day.

Stop In Boise!

We crazily decided to road trip to Seattle this year. On the way, we stopped in Boise- what a beautiful town!

We got to stay at my dear friend and former roommates house. She graciously hosted us and it was wonderful to visit and meet her cute family. It made the road trip much more bearable! Thank you, Mandy!
