Celebration!

It's time to celebrate!
In four weeks, I finished 90 hours of Professional Development classes, applied and received my official teaching license, and finally today received an official offer from the school district to be hired as the GT Facilitator of TBE, and no longer be a long-term sub! (This is a big deal- teachers have 7 years to get 90 hours to renew their license, but I powered through to get it done. It was a ton of work! I'm exhausted thinking about it)
This comes with about a 33% increase in pay, which is good because when I finally got my first paycheck on September 20th (my start date: August 8th), Ben and I opened it and laughed and laughed.
So far, I LOVE my job! It's the job I never knew existed that happens to be the perfect fit. I honestly believe it was placed in my path by divine intervention. I know it seems silly, but that's how happy I am at this position, at this school, with the co-workers I have. I honestly can't believe how perfectly it has all come together. I feel like I consecrated my job for my family for the past 15 years, giving up my career and sense of "self" so I could be the one to raise my kids, and now the Lord is blessing me in exchange. That's how perfectly things have fallen into place. (NO complaints about taking 15 years off of my career- marrying Ben is the #1 best decision of my life, having and being home with my kids is easily #2. It's been the greatest blessing, and the relationship I have with my girls is something that never could have happened if I wasn't the one raising them. And now, I still get to be a Mom first- there's exactly 40 minutes a week when I am at work and my kids aren't at school. This really is a perfect gig for me and my family)

Yes, I know there will be bumps, but I'm enjoying the honeymoon for as long as possible.
And now, ice-cream!

Camille's Primary Program

After today, we only have one more primary program with kids in primary.

But for today, we got to watch Camille. The program was wonderful- Camille worked really hard to memorize all of the songs.

Here's her part, which she did fabulous on:

"I know that Heavenly Father sent His Son to us because He loves us."

Boosterthon

Camille ran the boosterthon for her school fundraiser. She raised $8 a lap which was awesome.

Each class had a contest to decide who would design the class flag. Her design won so she got to make the flag and then carry it out onto the field which was pretty cool. Next, she will auction it off in order to earn "money" for their classroom economy (she gets to keep 50% of the sale price).

The kids raised over $32,000 which is great because they are raising funds for technology and for library books, and I need a new projector for my classroom, so I'm hoping I get a new projector. If I don't, then next year instead of donating to Camille I'll just buy my own projector.

#HOCO2022

Audra made her skirt and it turned out lovely. It was a little frantic last night as we went to Southwest Plaza to find a shirt. There were a lot of options, but she liked the dark purple.

She went with her seminary friends, plus a few kids we didn't know. They started out with a taco dinner at the Roper's house, which was great. Us moms organized the carpool situation, and the kids had a great time.

The dance was all the out at the Lowry Space Museum. Audra said she liked it better than the bowling alley last year because there was more room and it wasn't as loud- but dang, the drive was annoying. Why can't they just do it at the gym like a normal school?? They didn't play a single slow song the whole night, which I think Audra was fine with. She got home just before midnight, and said it was a great night.

Rainy Soccer

It was cold, but both Claire and Camille's teams won (and Claire scored two goals!). Plus I got this cute picture of Camille and her bestie!

ThunderRidge Parade!

Both Audra (marching band) and Claire (volleyball) got to march in the Homecoming Parade- so of course we all went to watch! It was so fun- though admittedly, Camille said she didn't see her sisters because she was too focused on getting as much candy as possible. She was very successful at her task!

With her best friend Ivy:

It was cool watching the parade come down the street!

UNDEFEATED!

Claire's volleyball team went undefeated! It was very exciting- but the best part? Watching the girls improve. In the final game, Claire had FOUR spikes! It was awesome to watch!

She has really stretched herself, and really excelled. This was definitely outside of her comfort zone, but she had such a great time being on a team, she is already talking about playing basketball, too. Her confidence has really grown- I couldn't be more proud of her!
