Seattle Day 8: Gnome Trail and Home

On our last day (which was actually day 10 of our trip) our flight didn't leave until late, so we spent the morning at the Gnome Trail with Makenna. I had never heard of it, but the DeCremers told us about it. The rest of the DeCremers except Bridger and Makenna were at Pioneer Trek, and we thought, why not see what it is? It was really cute.

Then, at night, we headed home. Camille cried- a lot. She LOVES Washington and really, really wants to move there. Perhaps someday.

Seattle Day 7: UW

Camille has decided she wants to go to UW. She has a whole plan, which includes being close to Grandma and Grandpa in case she ever gets lonely. I have to remind her that she is only 11.

At any rate, my dear friend Danielle offered to give us a tour of campus. I think it just made Camille fall in love more.

We also went to the troll. My dad suggested it, and why not?

For work, I had to get pictures of this pink duck in various places we traveled, so there's a couple of duck pictures thrown in here, too.

She took us to U Village, too, for lunch.

This library is stunning! I like to think I would study here everyday if I went to school here.

The boys and girls would NOT stand next to each other and barely communicated. It was hilarious.

Then, afterwards, the Hale's came over for a tea party which Alicia organized.

Seattle Day 6: Wild Waves

Camille became best friends with Dexter. This is Isaac's dog, but he took pretty quickly to Camille.

My girls insisted that we go to Wild Waves. I was a little hesitant because overall they aren't very big amusement park fans. In the end, though, it was a perfect day. Olivia, Alicia, and Makenna joined us for the fun.

The KangaBounce is my favorite ride- it just makes me giggle as it goes up and down!

The Timberaxe.....It goes upside down and around and around. I am super proud of both Claire and Camille who went on it, and LIKED it! They are both typically pretty big whimps when it comes to thrill rides, but they wanted to keep up with their cousins so they were very brave. This may be a turning point in our amusement park adventures!

Camille and i went on the bumper cars. Camille said, "I'm a little better than I was on Tomorrowland Speedway!" When she was 4 she and I rode together on the Speedway, and I may have gotten off felling a little nauseaus. At 11, she is a much better driver.

Seattle Day 5: Redondo and Shakespeare

Redondo is my absolute favorite place in the world. I love it. So we went and walked down the boardwalk. They also now have a small aquarium so we checked that out as well. It was lovely and perfect, as always. We saw a lot of seagulls and hawks and it was really great.

Their favorites were the Tubeworms. They aren't pictured here, but you touch them and then they crawl back into their tube. They're really cool.

Claire and Camille fell in love with my mom's typewriter. They had never seen such a cool contraption ;) They spent hours writing stories- it was pretty funny.

We went to Pick-Quick for dinner so Olivia could make us some shakes. I got blackberry oreo- YUM!

Then we went to Shakespeare in the Park. They were doing The Tempest. It was a perfect night for- the weather was extraordanry for us the entire trip.

This is what Camille thought of Shakespeare in the Park:

I learned that if you don't already know the play, having the synopsis pulled up on your phone and following along helps.
